This American designer of the immediate post-war period focused his work on textile design, but he was also admired for his graphic art as well as for his work as a furniture designer, scenographer and interior designer.
Girard brought twentieth-century design to a seductive and playful dimension that was lacking in the austere aesthetics of classical modernism.
